Ōpōtiki has excellent sports ground facilities, with playing fields at Memorial Park, Waioeka Domain and Princess Street Reserve. Ōpōtiki has a public library on Church Street. The historic De Luxe Theatre has ongoing film showings, thanks to the volunteers of the Ōpōtiki Community Theatre Trust.
